Access to Online Library Database Resources

We invite you to use this page as a starting point for your research. If you are a distance learning student or, otherwise accessing these resources from an off-campus location, you will need a password to enter each database site. You can obtain passwords by visiting the library. If you are a registered distance learner and physically unable to get to the library in person, you may fill out an online form to request access to the databases.

	ANATOMY.TV ANATOMY.TV is the world's most detailed 3D model of the Human Anatomy, now available online through your web browser. Models can be rotated and layers of anatomy added or removed. Please note that, at this time, the Western Piedmont Library has access only to the "Functional Anatomy" area of ANATOMY.TV.

	CINAHL + with Full-Text CINAHL® Plus with Full Text iprovides full text for more than 750 journals indexed in CINAHL. The database also provides full text for more than 240 books/monographs. This database also provides indexing for over 4,175 journals from the fields of nursing and allied health. With full text coverage dating back to 1937,CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the definitive research tool for all areas of nursing and allied health literature. 	FAITS Faulkner Advisory on Info Tech Studies is a computer and reference library designed exclusively for the academic community. Excellent source for articles on the telecommunications industry and new technology trends.

	Gale Virtual Reference Library Gale Virtual Reference Library is a database of encyclopedias, almanacs, and specialized reference sources for multidisciplinary research. These reference materials once were accessible only in the library, but now you can access them online from the library or remotely 24/7. Because each library creates its own eBook collection, the content you see may vary if you use the database at different libraries (your school, your public library, or your office).

	Literary Reference Center Literary Reference Center™ is a comprehensive, full-text database that provides users with a broad spectrum of information on thousands of authors and their works across literary disciplines and timeframes. It contains full text for more than 31,000 plot summaries, synopses and work overviews, nearly 100,000 articles/essays of literary criticism, more than 159,000 author biographies (including more than 22,000 in-depth bios), 450 literary journals, more than 632,000 book reviews, more than 69,000 classic and contemporary poems, more than 18,000 classic and contemporary short stories, more than 5,600 author interviews, more than 8,200 classic texts and much more.

	National Agricultural Library Digital Archives This repository was launched in April 2006 to provide access to the full text of publications digitized by NAL or through NAL's partnerships. The majority of the publications available were published by the USDA. Examples include the Agriculture Information Bulletin, the Agricultural Economic Report, and the Yearbook of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Publications are added on an ongoing basis. A complete list of full-text publications is provided in the Table of Contents.

	PubMed Central PubMed Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature.

	Small Business Resource Center SBRC is a comprehensive database offering content that covers all major areas of starting and operating a business, including accounting, finance, human resources, management, marketing, tax, and more. Based on a combination of periodical and reference content, SBRC is an excellent source of information for the prospective and current entrpreneurial community, as well as for students in business programs. From conducting industry research, to financial planning, to marketing a product and franchising a business, users have access to all the information they need.
